Towards a Sudanese Humanitarian Vision on Violent Extremism

SDFG launched the Sudanese Initiative for Countering Violent Extremism (SICVE) to address the phenomenon through a humanitarian lens rather than just security and military force.

Key Recommendations:

• Raise awareness of the dangers of terrorism among youth and religious leaders.
• Formulate a common charter for the democratic public sphere to combat terrorism.
• Study educational curricula and religious sermons to identify extremist roots.
• Engage artists and creative professionals to produce works countering extremist narratives.
