About SDFG
Sudan Democracy First Group (SDFG) is an umbrella organization of Sudanese independent activists, academics, and trade unionists. It was formed in 2010 in the wake of the 2010 elections and the lead-up to the 2011 referendum on the self-determination of South Sudan.
The group’s primary goal is to promote democracy, human rights, and peace in Sudan. SDFG works to provide a platform for Sudanese voices that are often marginalized, and to advocate for a democratic transition that is inclusive of all Sudanese people, regardless of their ethnicity, religion, or political affiliation.
- Our Vision: A democratic Sudan where human rights are respected, and peace is sustainable.
- Our Mission: To empower Sudanese civil society and activists to lead the struggle for democracy and justice through research, advocacy, and networking.
